Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semitism on Campus: The State of the Campus in 2018
Date(s) - October 14, 2018
In his role as Campus Bureau Editor of The Algemeiner, Prof. Pessin has been keeping a close eye
on the campus scene for Jewish students in general, and for those Jewish students who are supportive
of Israel in particular. He’ll talk about the relationship between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism, and offer
suggestions for how the Jewish community as a whole might respond to the worrisome developments.
He’ll also talk about how college students, or high school students approaching college, and their parents
might best prepare for their campus environments.
Andrew Pessin is Professor of Philosophy at Connecticut College, as well as Campus Bureau Editor
of The Algemeiner, among the fastest growing Jewish news outlets in America. Prof. Pessin has
authored numerous academic articles and books, including several books of philosophy for the general
reader, and two novels. His most recent book is Anti-Zionism on Campus: Free Speech, the University,
and BDS. His current research is focused on philosophy matters relevant to both Judaism and Israel, with
a book on Jewish philosophy due out late in 2018. He also had the privilege of playing “The Genius”
several times on the David Letterman show. For more information about him and his work (and links to
