The Yiddush Book Center
Outwitting History by Aaron Lansky is the amazing story of how a million Yiddish books were saved from destruction. The Yiddish Book Center, in Amherst MA, is where they reside. The museum is home to extensive permanent and visiting exhibits on Yiddish and Jewish culture.
We will travel in carpools leaving the synagogue on Sunday, April 8th at 10:30 a.m. for the 2 hour drive, followed by lunch and a 1:30 p.m. private tour.
Tour Only Fee $8.00 payable at time of tour by cash or check made payable to Margery Verlezza. (Lunch is self-pay)
Outwitting History can be purchased in book stores, online (use smile.amazon.com), or can be found at some libraries.
It’s a wonderful story filled with humor and nostalgia. It will give you all the background you need for our visit to the Yiddish Book Center.
